How we decide: buy now or wait
Most buying advice is optimized for the seller. Ours is optimized for one question: will you regret buying at this price?
1. Price evidence
We compare the current best price with the all-time low, the launch price and the size of the current discount. A 50% discount sounds good until you learn the game has been 75% off three times this year. We show the number and the date, so you can judge the pattern.
2. Patch / playability evidence
A game can be cheap and still a bad purchase if it is broken on your platform. We track whether the current build is still being fixed, link the official update feed, and avoid claiming “fixed” without a source. On a new patch, we would rather say “wait for reports” than guess.
3. Time evidence
How long has the game been out? Is a 1.0, expansion or remaster near? Is the version on sale the complete one? Time changes the value of the same $20: a two-year-old game at 50% off is a different proposition from a two-month-old game at 20% off.
Why we say “wait” so often
Because most of the time, the price is not at the low, and the game will still be there next month. We would rather miss a mediocre deal than train you to buy at full price. When the price is at the low and the game is in good shape, we say buy — no drama, no upsell.
What we are not
We are not a news site, a review site or a deal firehose. We do not do launch reviews. We do not publish a verdict we cannot support with a price, a patch or a release fact. If we cannot verify something, we say so.
